Last week, I was invited to open the new Home of Compassion care home, in the centre of Thames Ditton village. Along with general manager Avril Jones, I took part in a ceremonial tree planting, before taking a tour of the site and its new facilities. I also had the chance to speak with staff and some of the new residents.
Home of Compassion is set on the banks of the River Thames, and will provide high-level dementia support and expertise for more than sixty residents. The same level of care goes into everything, from activities to the cuisine, and the whole place had a really upbeat, positive atmosphere. I was really impressed during my visit, and I wish Avril and her team every success as the home welcomes more residents.
