Today, I visited the Connections group at Holy Trinity Church in Claygate. Connections is a group for local elderly residents to meet fortnightly over coffee and cakes in a welcoming and friendly environment. Pippa Cramer, who is the chief coordinator of the group, and her fantastic team of volunteers put on a varied range of activities and provide an opportunity for elderly residents to connect with each other and share stories, memories and challenges.
The group has the capacity to draw in a wide group of elderly residents who would otherwise be at risk of being dislocated from the rest of the community. I spoke to a number of residents over some coffee and cakes (as pictured, below). They were very grateful for the opportunity offered by Connections. I was really impressed with the incredible hard work, dedication and level of care provided by Pippa and her team.
