On Friday night, I went to a fund-raising evening hosted at the American School in Cobham, and organised by Bill Muddyman and Linda Gardiner. The event was arranged to raise money for the Morning Star charity in South Africa, which is a day care centre for under-privileged children afflicted by HIV.
Bill and Linda organised a terrific night, with music from the Antidote, magician Lee Burridge, and an auction conducted by John Inverdale. Morning Star’s founder Joan Adams also spoke movingly about her mission to provide hope to children affected by HIV. Morning Star is a truly inspiring charity, and you can read more about it here. A lively evening and generous contributions made it a fantastic night, which raised a substantial amount of money for a great cause.
