Last night, I addressed Walton Rotary Club at Burhill Golf Club. Introduced by their President, Elza Hollands (pictured below), I spoke a little about the General Election Campaign, then moving on to talk about my plans to improve rail services, local clinics in the community, and school expansion. I then addressed the enduring strength of the economy, and why the dynamic of the Brexit negotiations was more positive than portrayed in much of the broadcast media.
I also paid tribute to the civic spirit of the Walton Rotary club, from their organisation of the Top of the Form competition amongst local schools, to the support in the fight to eliminate polio. I took questions for about half an hour. As ever, they are a lively group, and it was a wonderful occasion.
