Following our campaign to improve outcomes for PA Housing tenants, it was good to catch up with Chief Executive, Michael McDonagh, to hear what steps he and the new leadership team at PA Housing are taking to improve the service they are providing tenants.
It was reassuring to hear that repair requests were down by 25% in December 2023 compared to December 2022, but there is still more to do to get this down to usual levels. Further to this, the team have changed the way their Walton office operates so that tenants can simply walk in to talk to a member of the team about any issues they may be having in their home.
Following feedback I have received from casework enquiries, I stressed that local residents are keen to see improvements in communications they receive from PA Housing. Michael assured me this is a top priority for the organisation, and they have recently spilt their neighbourhoods into smaller areas which has increased the number of neighbourhood co-ordinators. This will help to improve the level of communication residents receive from them.
Under Michael’s leadership, I hope PA Housing tenants are starting to see an improvement in the level of service provided. However, if you are experiencing problems in your home, please let me know on dominic.raab.mp@parliament.uk so I can raise your concerns with PA Housing on your behalf.
